Party Popper Gunpowder

speak out against violence toward our fellow Trans

On Thursday
March 3, 2011 at 9:00 pm at about the height of the block 11 Avenue Arequipa, compared to studies of American TV (Channel 5), a group of 15 partners transvestite sex workers expressed their outrage over the mistreatment constantly by Serenazgo troops from Lima and the impunity with which they act. The serene, for many years, humiliating, beating and harassing transvestites sex workers consistently without getting a penalty. However, in recent times, the attitude of serenazgo has "softened", but has not changed in essence.

The transvestites citizens are cordoned off along the avenue Arequipa impeding traffic. This caused policemen approached to ask them to leave. During this period, an Orion bus company ran a citizen called "Naomi", knocking and making her lose consciousness immediately. The police blatantly ignored the delicate state of "Naomi", so much so that it took nearly 20 minutes until it approached the aid. In addition, the bus in question was not arrested, ran away a full view of the troops. During this spontaneous protest and outrage, Channel 5 cameras came to record the facts.

Because of this, five transvestites citizens (including two minors) laid his complaint to the police station in Petit Thouars activists with the advice of the Homosexual Movement of Lima (MHOL). The process ended at 4:30 am, time that could just be met in legal medicine. This demonstrates the inefficiency and the differential treatment given to citizens unxs otrxs condolences to being assaulted twice because the judicial system did not provide the complaint.

other hand, since BE-LGBTI, we are aware that the status of transsexual people, transgender and transvestite in our country is extremely precarious, are systematically discriminadxs ellxs both access work, health, housing and recognition, in general, their rights. This is due to their gender identity and sexual practices are much more visible and, therefore, their bodies are more vulnerable than the population of gay, lesbian and bisexual.

For the foregoing reasons, from the Student Block - LGBTI:

• We believe that actions by the police and serenazgo that violated human dignity and civil rights of transgender friends are symmetrical to those suffering various LGBTI community members, and BE-LBGBTI especially that infamous February 12 this year. • condemn

This blatant act of systematic transphobic violence carried out against citizens transvestites. This is not the first time a transphobic act of this kind takes place, since it is a fact apart from the clear line transphobic of Police and, above all, the Serenazgo of the Municipality of Lima.

• We demand that the current mayor of Lima, Susana Villaran fulfill its commitment to the Trans and LGB community in general. This commitment, expressed on 14 February, the training requires calm regarding respect for human rights, the constant use of the labels with names of parts of aldermen forces and stop all violence based on gender identity Gender and sexual practices.

• We demand that members of the police comply with the requirements of the Manual on Human Rights Applied to the Civil Police (), which explicitly regulates the behavior of police in relation to vulnerable groups such as lesbians , gay, transgender and bisexual "(Chapter IV, A, 6).

• We demand to take immediate legal action against the watchmen and policemen who assaulted the citizens transvestite in question, and the citizen "Naomi" in particular, whether by act or omission.

• We regret the suffering and we sympathize with the fellow who were hurt and abused during this shameful episode. His suffering and outrage is also ours. Block
